Refunds and billing

The 24-hour pass
The pass is one payment of $4.99 for 24 hours of Pro. It is not a subscription: it is never charged again and there is nothing to cancel. Because it is used as soon as it starts, it isn't refundable, except for a problem caused by a bug on our side or a charge you don't recognize (email us within 14 days). There is no free trial; the free view, 60 seconds behind, is open to everyone.
Weekly and monthly plans
Plans renew every week ($14.99) or every month ($44.99) until you cancel. When you cancel, Pro keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for, and nothing more is charged. We don't give refunds for the unused part of a week or month, except where the law requires it.
Lifetime
Lifetime is one payment of $299.00 for Pro for as long as the SettleMath service runs, offered to the first 73 people. It is not refundable, except:
- if SettleMath shuts down within 12 months of your purchase, email [email protected] and you get a full refund;
- a refund for a problem caused by a bug on our side, decided case by case (email us with what happened).
A refund, or a payment dispute with your bank, ends Lifetime. Deleting your account ends Lifetime for good, with no refund.
If something went wrong
If you see a charge you don't recognize or were charged twice, email us within 14 days at [email protected] and we'll look at it and make it right where we can.
If the site was down
Uptime is checked every minute from outside our host (the Status page). If a month's uptime is under 99%, every member on a weekly or monthly plan or a 24-hour pass gets all of the time the site was down that month added to their plan, automatically, on the 1st of the next month: the next charge moves later by that much, or a pass runs longer. It shows on your account page. If you would rather have a refund for that time, email us. Any outage on our side counts, whatever the cause; the exchange's own scheduled weekly maintenance (Thursdays, 3:00 to 5:00 AM Eastern) is not ours and isn't counted.
Failed payments
If a renewal charge fails, our payment processor, Stripe, tries the card again. Pro stays on for about 48 hours after the failed charge, then pauses until a payment goes through. Updating your card under Manage billing on your account page brings it back. If no payment goes through, the plan ends.
Receipts and invoices
Stripe emails a receipt for each charge. Past invoices are under Manage billing on your account page.
Sales tax
Where sales tax applies, it is added to the price at checkout and shown on your receipt.
