Privacy Policy

This page explains what SettleMath ("we") collects when you use settlemath.app, why, and who else handles it. The short version: an email address for your account, your plan's status from our payment processor, and the ordinary logs every website has. No advertising trackers, no selling of data.
What we collect
- Your account. When you create an account, our sign-in provider, Clerk, collects your email address (and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google). We store your email address and Clerk's id for your account.
- Your plan. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We store Stripe's id for you as a customer, and your plan's status, price and dates (for example when a plan renews or a 24-hour pass ends).
- Logs. Like any website, the servers that run the site record technical details of each request: your IP address, browser type, the page asked for and the time. Our hosting provider (Railway) and network provider (Cloudflare) keep these for security and to keep the site running.
- Last active. While you're signed in, your account keeps one timestamp: the last time you clicked, typed or scrolled on the site. Not what you clicked or which page; it is replaced each time, and goes when your account is deleted.
- Messages. If you email us, we keep the email and our reply.
We don't collect anything about your trading account, and the site has no way to connect to one.
Why
To run your account and plan, to show you the live view your plan includes, to keep the site secure and working, to answer your messages, and to keep the records that tax and accounting laws require. When you start a plan, we check our payment processor's records for earlier plans under your email address. If you get Lifetime, we keep a record of that purchase (its number, date and amount) for as long as the service runs; if you delete your account, the record stays without your details so the limited number of Lifetime spots is counted correctly.
Who else handles it
- Clerk runs sign-in and stores your sign-in details.
- Stripe processes payments and, where it applies, sales tax; it stores your card and billing details.
- Railway hosts the site and its database.
- Cloudflare delivers the site's traffic and protects it from attacks.
Each of them handles your data under its own privacy policy. We don't sell your information, share it for advertising, or use analytics or advertising trackers. We would share information only if the law requires it.
Cookies
The site uses only cookies it needs to work, so there is no cookie banner:
sm_session: keeps you signed in on this site (30 days, or until you sign out).- Clerk's sign-in cookies (such as
__sessionand__client_uat), set on the sign-in and account pages. sm_preview: used only by the site's owner to preview the site.- Cloudflare may set a security cookie to tell people from bots.
Stripe's checkout and billing pages are run by Stripe and use Stripe's own cookies.
How long we keep it
Your account details stay until you delete your account. Payment records are kept by Stripe for as long as the law requires, even after an account is deleted. Server logs are kept by our providers for a limited time.
Your choices
You can delete your account at any time from your account page. That ends any plan at once, deletes your sign-in and the account details we store. You can also ask us by email to see, correct or delete what we hold about you: [email protected].
Children
The site is not for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS. Card details never reach our servers. Passwords are handled by Clerk, not by us. Secret keys are kept in our hosting provider's settings, not in the site's code.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too, and we will email account holders about significant changes.
